River Entrances

A myriad of information is available for the various East Coast Rivers, however two of our rivers are worthy of special mention due to their constantly changing entrances.

A new website has recently been set up giving up to date information on the entrances to the River Deben and Ore and can be found at www.eastcoastrivers.com

The River Deben

The River Deben is well buoyed from the entrance at Woodbridge Haven for the whole nine miles up to Woodbridge.  The various buoys at the Haven which lead the visitor into the river at Felixstowe Ferry are regularly corrected and maintained and up to date sketch maps of the latest approaches may be obtained from the East Coast Rivers website at www.eastcoastrivers.com

The River Ore

The River Ore reaches the sea through a narrow shingle banked outlet.  The entrance is guarded by shifting shingle banks or 'knolls' and the tides run very strongly both in and out of the river.  Once again, up to date sketch maps of the latest approaches may be obtained from the East Coast Rivers website at www.eastcoastrivers.com
